It appears that Jacob's Pillow has just uploaded a shit-ton of its performance archives onto a new portal, JACOB'S PILLOW DANCE INTERACTIVE, that traces the history of the Festival (and thus the history of 20th century dance) through video clips and quick annotation.

Just some dashed-off thoughts about the Big Love series finale. I'll leave the legitimate criticism to the big guns, but I needed to register my discontent.

When Big Love first started, I thought it was going to be as good as Six Feet Under. It certainly had the potential. The first two seasons were amazing! But then the bottom dropped out.

In Japan, the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant has gone from bad to worse. After Friday's 9.0 earthquake knocked out the region's power grids, the plant's backup deisel engines cut in -- and then died an hour later.

First of all, I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Adrienne Maloof. I mean, you're still both absurdly annoying and absurdly rich. And all you really brang to the show were a few cringe-inducing frames of your frozen feline face. But you could easily be a part-time supermodel in comparison to the latest mug Bravo has assaulted my poor peepers with.

POSTSCRIPT TO THE BELOW: as you probably heard by now, Bill Keller decided not to attend SXSW after all. Something about a nuclear meltdown -- whether his or Japan's wasn't clear.

Although it's already spawned a full-blow webternet kerfluffle and a full-body-contact response from its target, Bill Keller's NYTimes Magazine hit-piece on Arianna Huffington officially comes out in print today, the same day he's scheduled to appear at a South By Southwest Interactive panel on "The Evolution of the New York Times

One of our favorite non-profits around here is Press Pass TV, which teaches local teens how to gather and disseminate news. This vid is from the youth action at the Statehouse in late February, when more than 700 high school students swarmed the building to stand up for their job funding.

This sort of blitz has worked before, as young activists moved the legislature to salvage employment opportunities back in 2009.
