WHY THEM:With a name like Millionyoung, you'd probably expect Mike Diaz to be running around with Lil' Wayne and Snoop Dogg, throwing benjamins in the air with a blunt clenched between his grillz. Instead, he should be on an international tour with Phoenix or Passion Pit . . . doing roughly the same thing. Millionyoung kicks back to the good old days of 2007 when Justice were blowing everyone's minds for the very first time and Passion Pit were playing crappy bars instead of theatres. Diaz carries the slowly dying torch of hi-fi electronic music, but maintains the downtempo beats and airy synths of your favorite chillwave band. The tracks are so smooth and clean that you'll swear he's hitting every alternative radio station in the country. Well, he's not. Butwe would like him to. That's why we're writing about him.
