The Firecracker Jazz Band
Towers
Ensembles that dedicate themselves to the irresistible group interplay of early New Orleans jazz are few and far between these days, so those who dig very trad swing should jump at the chance to see a real-deal outfit in action. The Firecracker Jazz Band has its festive lingo down. From "I've Found a New Baby" to "Struttin' with Some Barbecue" to "Black Bottom Stomp," they bring the exclamation with tuba, banjo, trombone, trumpet, et al. Bask in the radiant rigors of polyphony (Morton, Armstrong, Oliver) and get a little dancing done at the Towers, 35 Ocean Road, Narragansett, from 7 to 10 pm | $15 | 401.782.2597
