 Electro-noise and a David Lamb benefit

Last call for GERTRUDE ATHERTON returning to Machines With Magnets (401.475.2655) for a headlining gig on THURSDAY (the 30th) with NANNY STATE (Whore Paint's Hilary Jones solo), ANIMAL LOVERS, and CLEAN LINES. On FRIDAY (the 31st), get to the Met (401.729.1005) early and catch ATLANTIC THRILLS opening for CRADLE TO THE GRAVE and THE AGENTS, or head downtown to the Spot ("where the Keg Room usetda be," 401.383.7133) for Brooklyn's TURKUAZ and local jam-band pros FUNGUS AMUNGUS. On SATURDAY (the 1st), a terrific lineup at the Parlour on North Main Street (one of RI's best live dives, 401.383.5858) features the WILLARD GRANT CONSPIRACY, THE 'MERICANS, and BARN BURNING. Meanwhile, Fête delivers an interesting electro-noise-rock lineup led by DYNASTY ELECTRIC with KALEN, VULGARRITY, and BAD MOTHERFUCKER. Also on Saturday, AS220 hosts THE REALLY HEAVY (West Warwick in the building!), SUMMER HOURS, THE IF, and THE GHOST OF OTIS (401.831.9327). Kick back on SUNDAY (the 2nd) at the Narragansett Café (401.423.2150) with SARAH & THE TALL BOYS starting around 4 pm, then get to Dusk (401.714.0444) for a benefit fundraiser to help out Brown Bird's DAVID LAMB — a great lineup for a great cause includes HAUNT THE HOUSE, DYLAN SEVEY & THE GENTLEMEN, THE BROTHER KITE, THE DENVER BOOT, and THE SILKS. On TUESDAY (the 4th), Lupo's lands a big one with THE NATIONAL making a rare Rhody appearance ($30 in advance, 401.272.5876); and next THURSDAY (the 6th) check out GAVAGE and THE VAPORUBS at the Parlour. And an early heads-up here for another Lamb benefit show next FRIDAY (the 7th) at the Columbus Theatre starring JOE FLETCHER & THE WRONG REASONS with SMITH & WEEDEN and J.P HARRIS; the show is all-ages and tix are $15 (and going fast), call 401.621.9660.
