There are only a few days left to take advantage of the end-of-summer three-course tasting menu at EXCELSIOR (272 Boylston Street, Boston). At least the menu, which is offered through September 2 and features dishes such as New England lobster, heirloom tomato salad, and blackberry-and-raspberry shortcake, gives us a reason to be happy about the waning days of our favorite season. The cost is $49, or $64 with half-glass and $74 with full-glass wine pairings. Call 617.426.7878 for reservations and information.
