Boston Accents 12.05.12: Speedy Ortiz Western Mass takeover + Caspian, Choose To Find, Underwater Bear Ballet, Left Hand Does

Was just another day in the WFNX circle pit, had a bunch of new tracks lined up for a slew of shows around town the next few days, and then BAM! -- SPEEDY ORTIZ just rolls up to WFNX to say hey. They're at T.T. The Bear's tonight for the Infinity Girl EP release party, (which we covered yesterday like whoa), so we chatted about what's up in Western Mass and spun some tracks from their end of the state. Good times. Milling Gowns hang out with me tomorrow, and I've been digging their post-punk sound for a while.    

CASPIAN "Halls Of The Summer" -- Beverly post-rock band playing Royale Friday night (show moved from the Sinclair). One of my favorite shows of 2012 was when Caspian played a surprise set at their Waking Season listening party at TTs.

CHOOSE TO FIND "Above Water" -- Continuing with the instrumental theme to start the show, Choose To Find release new record Songs Without Words tomorrow night at the Armory in Somerville with the Invisible Rays.

UNDERWATER BEAR BALLET "Naked In A Plastic Coffin (Demo)" -- From Above Water to Underwater, first track from the band's Underwater Demos. Playing tonight at the MIddle East around 10pm.

THE MILLING GOWNS "Zenith" -- Tomorrow's Boston Accents in-studio guest releases Something Dangerous Loves Me Friday night at Radio in Somerville. This tracvk will be on tomorrow's Phoenix mixtape.

THE VITAL MIGHT "Once" -- Another track on the mixtape, the Vital Might release Eclipse Saturday at Radio in Somerville.

LEFT HAND DOES "I Don't Know If I'm Driving" -- New album Encounter Safety out with a party tomorrow's night at O'Brien's Pub in Allston.

THE SHILLS "Electric Proving Ground" -- The Shills are also on this week's PHX mix, and they play Great Scott this Saturday.
