Boston Accents 12.04.12: Infinity Girl EP preview, Hey Ice Machine, Whole Doods, The Naked Stills, Ted Billings, Kingsley Flood
The best thing about this here online radio thing is we can pretty much do what we want. So when INFINITY GIRL offered up their new EP, Just Like Lovers, to be debuted on BOSTON ACCENTS, we decided, fuck it, let's play the whole thing beginning to end. So that's what we did. The noisy Cambridge -gazers are at T.T. The Bear's Place tomorrow night on a louder-than-fuck bill with Speedy Ortiz, Soccer Mom, and the New Highway Hymnal, so we invited them up to WFNX to hang out, shoot the shit, and play their EP. This will be the last Infinity Girl show for a very long time, and drummer Sebastian Modak is moving to Africa on a Fulbright scholarship, bassist Mitch Stewart might relocate to New York, and guitarist/vocalist Nolan Eley is eventually bound for California. Damn. But in the year that IG have been around, they've already released an excellent full-length, Stop Being On My Side, and now this EP. Let's send them off tomorrow night in Central Square. And hope the inevitable reunion doesn't take too long.
