WFNX announces Freeform Friday & Flashback Weekend + Duane Bruce unearths a Porno For Pyros bootleg
Say what you will about becoming a Company Man or whatever, but this is awesome news from our very own radio station. WFNX today announced tomorrow's FREEFORM FRIDAY, November 11, and its upcoming FLASHBACK WEEKEND which soundtracks your Thanksgiving weekend, November 23 to 27.
Essentially, Freeform Friday is when the station allows the DJs to play whatever the hell they want. Novel concept, I know, but shit -- last time around I drove home from Phoenix HQ to a double shot of At The Drive In's "One Armed Scissor" into Ride's "Dreams Burn Down." F.F.F., F.F.S.!!!
And in less than two weeks, this year's Flashback Weekend brings back to beautiful and scenic Lynn former hosts Morning Guy Tai, X-Night's Mike Gioscia, and two gentlemen I have infinite respect for, the legendary Kurt St. Thomas and sudden bootleg maven Duane Bruce.
So in honor of Flashback Weekend, I'm gonna get all Hotline Lazy and post official deets from the presser after the jump, which in this case is a December 1992 set from PORNO FOR PYROS at the WFNX Best Music Poll. Thanks to Bruce for the hookup. And the Nirvana ManRay bootleg. Oh and the Smashing Pumpkins one from Axis, too.
