[tonight] Funeral Party @ House of Blues

If you're headed to see Deftones tonight at the House of Blues, hit up the Landsowne joint on the early side to catch FUNERAL PARTY, a rising Los Angeles dance-punk band -- and pack of crazy motherfuckers -- that we hosted back at our SXSW party in March. It'll be odd to see how Funeral Party's frenetic energy translates to a older metal crowd mostly there to see the 'Tones and Dillinger Escape Plan, but either way, these dudes know how to throw it down. More cowbell and spastic shit, plz kthx.

Above is the video for their blitzkrieg jam "NYC Moves To The Sound of LA," which according to front man Chad Elliot isn't so much a diss on the Dirty Apple as it is a mere blanket statement on how everyone copies everyone. Boo fucking hoo. Being a Boston publication, as we are, I tried to get Elliot to talk some shit on Screw York while down in Austin, but he refused to take the bait and only talked in generalities. I thought he'd get into how NYC jumped on the electro bloghaus tip like five years after LA wore it the fuck out, but no, he didn't.
