MP3 of the Week: Awesome Chariot "Awesome Chariot Theme" [One Night Band]

Last summer, 40 fairly hung-over Boston-area musicians got together on a Saturday morning and were chosen at random to create eight supergroup quintets. Their mission, after introductions and a few hours of practice, was to perform three new songs and one cover in front of a demanding audience that evening at the Middle East for an event called One Night Band.

This Saturday, the live-band roulette returns to the Central Square nightspot with One Night Band 2, and to celebrate, the organizers at the Boston Band Crush blog passed along a tidy sing-along rock nugget from one of last year’s participants, Awesome Chariot. Comprising Ad Frank and members of Aloud, #1 Dad & DJ Fred Mertz, the Fatal Flaw, and Hands & Knees, Awesome Chariot produced the appropriately-titled “Awesome Chariot Theme,” and you can download it below.

Click here for more information on One Night Band 2. Doors are at 8, and the show is 18-plus, with those under 18 allowed with a parent or guardian. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the doors, and all proceeds go to Zumix. Rock on.
