If you want something done right, you put on your own music and art fest, alert all your friends using the litany of available social networking avenues, and invite some really rad bands to play the bestest basements around town. That's how the old saying goes, right?

Regardless, that was the organizer's mindset for the DIY Fest that went down in Allston last Saturday. Unfortunately, my invitation was lost in the mail. But photographer Lindsey Payson was on hand at the Haunted Casino party to shoot a handful of worthy (and sweaty) local acts, for your viewing pleasure. Unsure as to when the next event by way of these promoters is, but they seem to still be updating their Facebook page since the event, so it might be worth buddying up with them.
