perhaps a teachable question would be, "what makes gwen ifill a competent journalist"? 'moderator' will do. as a staffer on various political outting, i've had the opportunity to catch the woman up close...from clinton I (when she was a 'stringer'to the new york times), through now. what she says are not what these eyes of mine have seen...or read. given her credentials, it's doubtful the 'book' is writ worthy. if ever there was an "affirmative action baby", in her we have one, and that would be just fine if only she was covering the weather.
