MORE ABOUT ED GARRISON
Ed Garrison is a relatively new name to the Portland Dj scene, but he has made an entrance for sure. He is a big guy with a big love for house music and creativity in general. For the last 2 years he spent a lot of time supporting various parties and venues and meeting like minded individuals. His first special guest appearance was along side a west end staple DJ Jamie O'Sullivan for his LOVE party @ Flask lounge. The place was electric and was a kick start for him in the local dance music scene. He has since played numerous nights @ Flask Lounge and in November of 2012 he started his own monthly event in the basement called "Balance". He plays an assortment of house music but mostly is heard dropping very heavy bass lines and poetic vocals over deep house and nu-disco grooves. You will always get a chance to hear a few of his personal remixes, private edits, and original unreleased music as he spends most of his free time producing and remixing. Stop by the basement @ Asylum every 4th Saturday to check out his take on house music with a cast of guest dj's already known and loved.
When asked about what he expects for 2013 he said, " There is something brewing up here in Maine right now in regards to dance music, there is a special feeling, something important happening. You can feel it at different places and events in recent months if you pay attention. I expect more and more people to notice and contribute to that. I think this is Portland's year to make itself known again like it was in the Zoots days. Its exciting to see it unfolding"
