Furyus, born Markivus Nious in San Antonio,Texas, always displayed a knack for spoken word and a love for music. After performing a self written anti-drug song “Drug Free Nation” at his High School Talent show in Bay St. Louis Mississippi his junior year, Markivus was enrolled WBSL AM1190’s Broadcasting Academy and later hired as a full time Disc Jockey for WBSL AM 1190, Bay St. Louis’s local radio station.

Furyus recently released his debut album for NVE Records entitled "My Thoughts". “My Thoughts” is a very personal album which Furyus reflects all aspects of himself. Unlike most artists in the hip hop genre, My Thoughts is an inspirational and thought provoking album. My Thoughts has been gaining airplay on various stations in the United States and countries abroad. Websites and Ezines such as hiphopondeck.com, WWS Magazine and Niji Magazine based out of London have given "My Thoughts" exceptional reviews. "Electrify" the lead single instrumental has been featured on VH-1's 40 Most Shocking Hip Hop Moments. Furyus draws inspiration from artists like Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Lupe Fiasco. “At The end of the day music is something we retreat to, and it is that spark that helps us make it through, If I inspire people by speaking the universal language of music then I’ve done my job”.

Furyus previously released two self produced albums “Standing Alone” EP 2003, and his debut full length album “Still Standing” in 2005 on his Indie label Stand Alone Music. Both albums received critical acclaim in various magazines such as Fahrenheit Magazine, The Hippo Press, Union Leader and Urban Empire Magazine. Furyus also achieved success abroad having his song “Hip Hop The Only1 I Need” chart number 9 on Abuja Nigeria hip hop radio station 94.7. In 2004 Furyus in conjuction with Silver-Tongue Entertainment went on tour to support his “Standing Alone” album hitting cities like San Diego, Albuquerque, Boston, Manchester NH, and Southbridge MA. Singles from his Still Standing album "A day in the life" and "The Setting" were voted among the top ten songs played in 2006 on WUML 91.5 fm based out of New England. Furyus has shared the stage with acts such as Mandi Leigh, Gary Devon, Mr Lif, D-Tension, Mic Sylz, and Killa Priest of the Wu Tang Clan.
