MORE ABOUT THE JES POWERS PROJECT
Known for her sultry vocals that added to the unique sound of Route .44, an eight-member band that was touted as one of Providence’s best original bands, Jess Powers has been a mainstay in the local music scene for the past eight years. Dubbed “Best Female Vocalist” in the readers’ choice polls for Providence Phoenix in 2008 as well as Motif Magazine in 2009, Powers has been captivating audiences throughout the region but has recently decided to try her hand at something more personal. The Jes Powers Project is a foray into exploring Powers’ own creative vision, sound, and lyrical style. The debut of Chanteuse, a bi-monthly music series highlighting female vocalists, was well received and continues to make waves within the creative scene of Providence and beyond. Powers is motivated by sharing her creative vision and sound with others and welcomes the opportunity to share the stage with all who are willing.
