What do you call the sound of a soul singer, a punk-loving bassist, a jazz-trained guitarist, and a funk drummer reviving the past 40 years of rock history?
Call It The Truth.
The group came together in 2009 at Bowdoin College. Nate and Fhiwa met at the Cleveland airport before either had decided to attend Bowdoin, a strange coincidence considering that both lived in the Boston area. They discovered their shared interest in music: both had played in rock and jazz bands for nearly a decade. When they arrived at Bowdoin at the beginning of their freshman year, they met Justin, a singer-songwriter from Memphis who grew up singing gospel as well as choral music. The trio soon linked up with Mikel, an unabashed fan of pop-punk who played guitar and bass in a string of rock bands in high school.
With the release of their debut EP “Fight For Your Life” Call It The Truth unleashes their soulful modern rock sound to the masses. After bringing their energetic live show to the Portland area, the band is performing throughout the Northeast and beyond.
Fans of The Black Keys, The Raconteurs, and N*E*R*D will enjoy Call It The Truth’s unique sound.
