At a time when the local Boston punk scene is all but dead, Force Fed Lies serves up a much needed cocktail of energy, aggression, and intention to everyone sick of their city’s bar punk clichés. Aware of their roots, Force Fed Lies travels beyond bagpipes and working class sing-alongs, tipping their hats to those who have done this right along the way, to include a healthy diet of metal’s pounding double-bass, California’s high-energy skate punk riffs, and D.C.’s straight-ahead hardcore punk message. While using so many influences to fuel a band can be a recipe for losing the band’s identity in favor of reliving the great moments in rock history, for Force Fed Lies, this is not the case. Since forming in the fall of 2007, Force Fed Lies has established a unique blend of heavy but melodic, visceral but thoughtful, true-to-its-roots punk with sights on something greater. Formed from the ashes of past punk pursuits, Force Fed Lies brings together long-time collaborators Joe NoBody (vocals) and Brian Muthafucker (drums). In what was originally a one-shot side project that took on a life of its own, Joe and Brian have recruited fresh faces Danny Ronin (guitar) and Pork Fried Rice on bass. Ken Kato (guitar) rounds out the band's sound with an experienced nod to the central/western Mass. metal scene. With songs ranging from the politically minded to just plain pissed off, Force Fed Lies has something to say…and they will do whatever it takes to get you to listen, all the while reminding you that there’s an easy way and a hard way. The choice is yours.
