Sand Machine has been called a musical petri dush. They're the best of the old filtered through subsequent developments in rock and other things. Their songs get stuck in your head, though not in a spoon-feeding, poppy way. Wit, candor, intelligence and emotion are ingredients given varying emphases in Sand Machine's genuine approach, which ranges from personal story-telling to social commentary.
Since 1999 Sand Machine has played consistently in Boston and other parts of New England, with forays into New York and New Jersey, as well as gigs in Nashville. Sand Machine's The Difference Is... was recorded with two-time Boston Music Awards Producer of the Year Dave Minehan at Wooly Mammoth Sound.
