MORE ABOUT RACHEL MCCARTNEY

Rachel McCartney has graced Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and New York City audiences since 1994.

Known to Boston fans as street performer and subway entertainer, her stage experience includes the Cambridge's Lizard Lounge, Kendall Cafe and historic Club Passim. At Passim, she's opened for well known artists such as Ellis Paul and Willie Porter, and has participated in Passim's past three Cutting Edge Campfire festivals. Her most recent Boston appearance was at the 10th Annual Songstreet Production of Songwriters at the Somerville Theatre.

Rachel is respected among her peers, and it's not uncommon to see her collaborate with other accomplished artists. Her live performance is physically and emotionally engaging, the power and beauty of her voice astounding.

Before returning to her home town of Gloucester, Rachel was favored at local Pittsburgh venues, opening shows for Patti Griffin, Shawn Colvin and David Gray. Her solo billing has repeatedly filled popular venues including The Quiet Storm and The Club Cafe.

Songs from Rachel's recent album, Eye On the Horizon, are featured in Who Knew Productions' award-winning independent film The Bread, My Sweet. She is currently working in New York City at The Bitter End, The Back Fence and The Living Room.
