MORE ABOUT FORGET THE GIRL

Contrary to what some people believe, Forget The Girl is not a rock band selling anti-woman anthems or denying the painfulness of relationships. Refusing to join the usual clamoring and complaining about self-centered romance, FTG's songs speak about deeper issues of despair, fear, hope, and in the appropriate times, simply come along side someone to let them know they are not alone. In their first full-length release, Walk Around in Your Head, the band stays true to what they're about with unforgettable lyrics, hook-driven melodies, and a synergy of rock guitar riffs, drum and bass.

The band started in the summer of 2002 when Mike, then a student at Boston College, was introduced to guitarist/vocalist Thomas and ex-drummer Robin Lai, who were both finishing up degrees at Berklee College of Music. Mike had written some songs, and so the trio began to practice together, with Thomas switching to bass guitar. The group played a few small venues. Bassist David Chen, a mutual friend, joined the band a few months later, freeing up Thomas to play guitar and expand the band's sonic creativity. The band’s first release, “the donut ep”, was released in the fall of 2003. Recording for a full-length album began soon thereafter, but the band struggled to finish the album, playing occasional gigs in Boston and a few in the tri-state area over the years. A career change forced Robin to leave for New York making way for current drummer Marvin Khoo to join the band in the fall of 2006. Bringing new life and new focus to complete the album, Marvin and the boys pulled together to finish Walk Around for a 2007 Spring release.
