MORE ABOUT THE BUSINESS END
The Business End is the aural vision of a man who has been through the music industry and back, only to land right back where he started - pen and paper and a desire to write music for himself, by himself.
Jon McGarry has spent the past 4 years touring the country in various bands (The Kickovers, Val Emmich) and truly getting a taste for a variety of styles of music, which is clearly reproduced in his own. Sharing the stage night after night on tours with such acts as Dashboard Confessional, Butch Walker, Gavin DeGraw, American Hi-Fi, and Better Than Ezra has given Jon not only the experience of performing in front of large audiences, but the ability to understand what a rock show and making music is all about - connection with people on a very basic, yet very human, level.
To make a long story short, Jon has been through the major label machine. As a sideman for Sony/Epic recording artist Val Emmich, McGarry has seen big record deals gone wrong first hand. While Emmich took time off in 2005/2006 to figure out how to right his own ship, McGarry took to his own muse while off the road in the form of The Business End. In a mix of all styles that catches his ear, McGarry manages to tell his tale of woe, hope and ultimately his own desire to make change in his own and other's lives.
So far, the songs have been crudely realized with McGarry performing all of the parts in his own home studio. While there are many facets to McGarry, he hopes to show the only part that matters - The Business End.
