MORE ABOUT J.E.BORGEN

J.E.Borgen’s musical education began as a guitar tech for the indie rock band Dispatch. It was through the experience of touring the country that Borgen first began molding his writing style and finding a penchant for performing. Ultimately, the event inspired and spring-boarded J.E. on a musical journey that uprooted him from Denver and led him to Boston to pursue studies at Berklee College of Music. During his time in New England, playing in the clubs and schools around the area, Borgen found his voice and started to draw close attention to his unique style and engaging melodies.

On Borgen’s new album, “The General Store,” he collaborates with acclaimed producer/musician, Scott Riebling (Letters to Cleo, Nina Gordon, Weezer) and brings together a talented group of players led by his band and rhythm section of Erik Privert and Dave Brophy. Local heroes Duke Levine (Ellis Paul, Jonatha Brooke), Paul Schulteis (Super Honey) and Mike Castellana (Eddie Kirkland) further enrich J.E.’s songs with their creativity and organic playing styles.
