MORE ABOUT JESS KLEIN
Six years ago, when Jess Klein decided to study a year in Jamaica while in college, her father responded by loaning her his old acoustic guitar. Until that time, Klein, a native of Rochester, New York, had indulged her creativity by painting, playing the clarinet, taking dance classes, writing short stories, and doing a little singing. But when she held that guitar her creative focus shifted. She taught herself a handful of chords. Little did she know that those few chords would morph into beautiful melodies, and, a few years down the road, those melodies would become a work as important as her Rykodisc/Slow River debut, Draw Them Near.
