MORE ABOUT ELECTROVIOLET
Although ElectroViolet is a new project for artist Laura "Violet" Christoffels, this is certainly not her first. She's spent many years working in the local scene of Ithaca, NY with rock, experimental, industrial, and alternative bands.
For three years she worked as a keyboardist and back-up vocalist for the exciting experimental band Experimental Drug. The band was featured on a compilation disk by Rodell Records and created an entire library of local television shows appropriately named Experimental T.V. While rehearsing three times a week and performing out with the band, she took on a project of her own, writing, playing keys and singing lead vocals for an alternative band called Aberration which consisted of keyboard, drums, bass, and guitar.
In the winter of 1998 Violet decided to move to Boston, MA. In the time between 1998 and 2001 she experimented on her own with various types of music. Since keyboards were her main instruments she decided to try working with electronic-based music, adding vocal tracks and occasionally adding acousitc guitar. When she was introduced to Sonic Foundry's software Acid Pro 3.0 and Sound Forge in the spring of 2001, ElectroViolet was born.
