On THURSDAY (the 11th), the CHELSY LAU BAND head to Cat's in Pawtucket with guests SHE RIDES, RED LANTERNS, and THE ORGAN BEATS, and head back there on FRIDAY (the 12th) for a benefit gig honoring Jason Swift, who was fatally shot by Pawtucket Police two years ago. KRIS HANSEN, RHYTHMAFIA, GRIP ON THE SUN, and DOCTRINE will perform, call 401.722.0150. Rap heads will be congregating at Firehouse 13 as Protown Records presents the debut of READY INK — Info Mite and J-Strest on the mic with DJ Al Bums working the tables. At AS220 (401.831.9327), PLAN 9 celebrate an album release with THE DAREDEVIL CHRISTOPHER WRIGHT, EXILES, and WISHING WELLS. Also on Friday, ALEC K REDFEARN brings the 11-piece EYESORES and THE SEIZURES to Machine With Magnets (401.475.2655) in Pawtucket; the Seizures just released Exterminating Angel and will perform the record in its entirety; ORION RIGEL DOMMISSEE opens at 8 pm, $8 at the door. In Narragansett, NYC indie-hippies TURBINE play the Wheelhouse (401.284.0246); and FUNKATRONIC and GOOSEPIMP ORCHESTRA get busy at Jerky's (401.621.2244).
