Massmouth's Storyslam
Kennedy Midtown
There's something a bit unsettling about Massmouth's slogan "Because you have a mouth, you have a story," but never mind, because Storyslam is here to give you the stage. Anyone wanting to participate signs up to tell a five-minute short story on a given theme, which this month is "scared to death." Judging is done by a combination of panel and audience; the top three then face off to see who will go to (again, unsettling) "the big mouthoff." It's as if a poetry slam and American Idol had been bred in captivity: the baby will be on view at Kennedy's Midtown, 42 Province St, Boston | 7 pm | $5 suggested donation + one drink minimum | //thephoenix.com/BLOGS/controlpanel/blogs/www.massmouth.blogspot.com.
