Terminator + Dillinger Is Dead
Brattle Theatre
You wouldn’t know it from this year’s turgid sequel, but James Cameron’s Terminator
(1984), with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the time-traveling cyborg
juggernaut, was one of the great movies of the ’80s. It screens at the
Brattle Theatre today through Sunday. Also at the Brattle, Friday
through Monday, is Marco Ferreri’s rarely seen Dillinger Is Dead
(1969), which has little to do with the antihero of Michael Mann’s
Public Enemies but is instead a disturbing, claustrophobic portrayal of
anomie featuring Michel Piccoli, Anita Pallenberg, and a handgun in a
bowl of olive oil. The Brattle is at 40 Brattle St, Cambridge |
