VINTAGE MAMET Back in the mists of time, before he created The Unit and directed Ford Edge commercials, David Mamet was a twentysomething Chicago scribbler with an ear like a tape recorder. One of his earliest plays, SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO, enjoys a revival beginning tonight at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, whose artistic director, Jeff Zinn, got his start in the 1975 Off Broadway production. Brendan Hughes directs the one-act play, in which a young guy and girl try to turn a one-night-stand into true love, despite the interference of two very cynical best friends. “For all of its shock value circa 1977, it’s really a very sweet play,” says Zinn.
