Permit us to say: there’s a magic to River Gods, a certain quality that exists out of time and out of place. There’s no bar like it, in Cambridge or Boston. From the figures, dolls, statuettes, and woven-wicker woman emerging from the wall, to the velour cushions, to the tiny DJ booth lofted up in the corner above the bar, to the Cantabrigians eating burgers in high-backed wooden chairs, River Gods is a rare find and a readers’ pick. |
