MORE ABOUT ALOUD
Formed in 2002 in Boston, MA, Aloud is known for their solid rock songwriting, male/female vocal harmonies, and high-energy live show. Lead vocalists/guitarists Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain have been writing songs together since their early teens, and have crafted the heartfelt sound of Aloud with bassist Roy Fontaine and drummer Ross Lohr.
Aloud has been touring New England, New York and New Jersey consistently since 2003, at one point performing over 100 dates a year. Aloud self-released their full length debut CD Leave Your Light On in May of 2006 on the band’s own Lemon Merchant Records to a flurry of positive reviews.
Popular NYC rock blogsite The Deli Magazine describes Aloud as "no frills rock music without a single off-putting pretense.... pushing the indie-rock envelope." Claremont Eagle Times (Claremont, New Hampshire) says Aloud’s live show “combined the Pretenders’ sass with U2’s sonic fury.“ The Noise praises Aloud as having “rockin', melodic songs delivered by two powerhouse singers... with magnificent tunes and serious vocal chops, and they get better every time I see them... they're damned near flawless.” Vocalist Jen de la Osa was nominated ‘2007 Best Female Vocalist’ by the Boston Phoenix.
The foursome recently performed as semi-finalists in the WBCN 2007 Rock n’ Roll Rumble, a prestigious invite-only Boston battle of the bands style competition. Aloud is currently preparing to go into the studio with producer Chuck Brody (Peter, Bjorn & John; Yoko Ono; Monsters Are Waiting; Northern State) to record their sophomore CD in New York City this fall.
