Angel Taveras

Retain business, grow jobs, refine the way that the city of Providence interacts with its economic community. And, oh, keep a smile on your face while you're doing it. Running a beleaguered New England capitol isn't the easiest job in the world, and Taveres, with his Head Start to Harvard backstory still resonating, has applied himself dutifully to it in the handful of months he's been mayor. And it's not many pols who cut their own salary during fiscal nightmares. Hats off, and fingers crossed that Team Taveres can eradicate that whopping deficit we're looking at.
