Pastiche Fine Desserts & Café

This place is a toy store for the mouth. Eileen Collins and Brandt Heckert started out 18 years ago making goodies for restaurants, but now customers skip the middleman. Their cozy Federal Hill shop has a working fireplace, and in its glow visitors can indulge in a raspberry-almond cake or Dutch apple pie or (got for it!) a banana cream tart piled high with whipped cream.
