It takes lots of faith and more than a little TLC to sustain jazz bookings these days — especially in out-of-the-way venues. The Woonsocket institution has made the music one of their cornerstone elements since 1977 and, because their menu is just as magnetic as their programming, audiences abound. Scott Hamilton's sumptuous tenor sax, Laszlo Gardony's radiant piano, Mose Allison's wry vocals — each regularly finds a home at John Chan's place, which won the 2011 Keeping the Blues Alive Award for Best Blues Club from the Blues Foundation in Memphis.
