THE DUCK AND BUNNY
Co-owner Daniel Becker (with wife Jessica) moved up from Brooklyn last fall to open THE DUCK AND BUNNY, a combination wine bar and tea shop. They’ve subtitled it a “snuggery” — i.e., a cozy haven where you can sip and sup your way through their menu of crepes or creative salads, snacks, and sandwiches — including “tea sandwiches,” a PB&B (banana) on Portuguese sweet bread — or sample a “flight” of six cupcakes from their daily selections. There are craft beers on tap, plus domestics and imports. The wine list reaches out to the West Coast and around the globe, including two organic wines, two with “cupcake” in their name and, as the menu quips: “even Merlot” (from Chile). The teas are outstanding (“high tea” features finger sandwiches, scones, and Devonshire cream); the fireplaces and fleece lap-blankets make it snug indeed. And don’t miss the paintings of the bar’s namesakes, a la van Gogh and Vermeer! | 312 Wickenden Street, Providence | 401.270.3300 | theduckandbunny.com
