Seven Seas Chowder House

Iggy’s takeout in Oakland Beach remains king of the year-round clam shacks, but Warwick Neck locals flock to SEVEN SEAS CHOWDER HOUSE, as they did back in the Rocky Point Park days, rather than waiting in line (and getting bombarded by ravenous seagulls) at the Shore Dinner takeout window. Seven Seas is the quintessential clam shack, with an enclosed family-friendly picnic area (the netting on the windows makes it feel like you’re dining inside a lobster trap). Seven Seas is open Thursday through Sunday, when those fryolators get cranking with plump coconut shrimp and fried clam bellies, calamari, and the requisite belly-buster clam cakes to accompany the red or white chowder.
