Best Jolly Theme Restaurant
Pirate Girl
As in a jolly Roger flapping in the breeze. It’s easy to miss PIRATE GIRL when passing through the port village of Galilee for fish market filets or to stroll past creaking boats. The restaurant is tucked away on a side street you’d never normally go down, unless you were shanghaied. The namesake is hostess Patty Stamps, wife of Capt. Norbert Stamps, skipper of the Debbie Ann and owner of the Timberwolf, whose catch assures freshness here. If you forgot your plastic and can’t pay your bill, they won’t make you walk the plank. No, the atmosphere is more Pirate Patty than Bluebeard, so maybe they’ll just have you shuck some clams. Don’t miss their “Homemade Ultimate Stuffies” ($6.99), mountainous on their quahog shells and packed with chourizo. They want you to go “Mmmm!” rather than “Arrrgh!” | 33 State Street, Galilee | 401.284.1400
