Lakis Pizza
Yeah, Domino’s latest version of pizza is 100x better than before, and still about 300x worse than your locally-owned neighborhood pizza parlor. When you’re talking up top-shelf pizza shops in Rhode Island’s second-biggest city (Little John’s, George’s, Picasso’s, et al), LAKIS PIZZA in the Buttonwoods area will forever enter the conversation, no matter how you pronounce it (it’s LAH-kees, not LA-kiss). The pies boast a nice crust and are just greasy enough, complemented by low-priced domestic drafts (and pitchers). Under $12 for the extra-large one-topping? Can’t beat it. Whether feeding the rugrats or a man-cave full of poker players, Lakis is a go-to (and open relatively late on weekends). The grinders and cheesesteaks are no joke, and make room for the Trojan Horse, a hefty pig-in-da-blanket loaded with cheese and ’roni for around $4. | 3003 West Shore Road, Warwick | 401.737.1080
