Greenwood Inn

It seemed to take forever, but the vision is finally a picture-perfect reality for the Papa family, proprietors of the GREENWOOD INN (located under the Greenwood “bridge”) for more than 55 years. The renovation of the beloved eatery is simply jaw-dropping — it’s like a sparkling ski lodge was dropped in. The cathedral-style ceiling and wide-open dining room floor plan generates loads of echoing chatter, but that will never stop locals from packing “The G.I.” A handsome and extensive bar area, white linens, and a veteran waitstaff (we’re talking Twin Oaks-type devo-tion) accompany the new snazzy interior, but the consistent comfort fare brings ’em back, from the classic Italian combination plate to the burgers, steaks and chops, lobsta clubs, and a great corn chowder recipe. The daily specials (Yankee pot roast, chicken pot pie, prime rib) keep the blue-haired early-birds flocking here for supper, as do the $2 Narragansett pints for the NFL Sun-day Ticket crowd. | 1350 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick | 401.738.3334 |
