Friday Night Live
One thing about improv comedy is that the performers almost always seem to be having as much fun as the audience. This is especially true with the three-year-old FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE troupe at the Carriage House Theatre. Founding members Aaron and Rachael Jungels and Sokeo Ros link up with a half-dozen regular performers, including Clayon McFarlane, Bianca Morris, Ari Brisbon, Andrea Sterling, Grace Bevilacqua, and French jazz guitarist Bertrand Laurence. They've all learned to take chances in creating instantaneous characters or situations and to let their energy and wit carry them to unexpected places. Whether they're riffing off a phrase from the audience, playing more defined improv "games," involving the audience in a sing-along, or bouncing from one celebrity portrayal to another, the effects are hilarious, both on-stage and off. And in these hard times, laughter still proves to be the best (and cheapest) medicine! | 7 Duncan Avenue, Providence | 401.831.9479 | everettdancetheatre.org
