Wanting to underscore their commitment to organic and, whenever possible, local ingredients, the folks at CORNUCOPIA have proclaimed their motto to be “Organic food with attitude since 2006.” The lunch menu of burgers, dogs, sandwiches, and Cajun fish stew stays consistent, but the prix fixe dinner menu changes weekly, to accommodate the availability of organic produce or local seafood. The three courses in the prix fixe are quite substantial: a choice of soup or salad; then a choice of three appetizers, such as stuffed mushrooms or sesame chicken wings; and more than half-a-dozen entrées. The whole meal is based on which entrée is ordered: $26 to $30. But this is an amazing bargain, given the generous portions of the other courses. Desserts are also house-made and superb. Don’t let that motto throw you — the ’tude here is not snooty, just rightfully proud of their principles.
