Books on the Square

Blow up your TV. Stop paying your ISP. There is a world of reading material out there, and BOOKS ON THE SQUARE is doing more than making money out of the fact. Their schedule of author readings is relentless, usually one a week. Writers range from PETA executive Dan Mathews (Committed) on April 18 to Indian author Shrabani Basu (Spy Princess:The Life of Noor Inayat Khan) on April 29, both at 7 pm. The four readings in May include nationally prominent authors Alice Hoffman (The Third Angel) on May 6 and Ann Hood (Comfort: A Journey Through Grief) on May 13, also at 7 pm. Readers as well as writers get attention here. The Mystery Book Club meets every third Thursday of the month, and the Queer Book Club meets every third Wednesday.
