Atop the fabulous pad Thai at APSARA PALACE is a favorite spot for chopped, roasted peanuts to be. This particular stir-fried rice noodle dish has a slightly sweet dressing, noodles that are not clumpy, and a generous amount of the aforementioned peanuts. Other Thai dishes at this four-season Asian eatery (Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Chinese) vie with pad Thai for top billing: the chicken broth/coconut milk soup; the pineapple fried rice, with chunks of fresh pineapple; the lemongrass or satay sauces on anything. But there are also many other noodles to consider (18 categories), from soft to crispy, flat to round: Cantonese, Chinese, or Cambodian; Shanghai or Singapore; egg noodles to angel hair. The menu is dazzlingly long, with two dozen each chicken, beef, and seafood dishes (and 19 pork), and a section titled “nutritious diet food.” Arguably, any dish on Apsara’s menu is on someone’s diet, and all certainly seem nutritious!
