Tribute to H.P. Lovecraft

No, attending the annual TRIBUTE TO H.P. LOVECRAFT isn’t likely to horrify you, but you might then read some of his fantasy-horror short stories, which surely will. Beginning in 1987, on the 50th anniversary of the writer’s death, the ceremonies were held at his Swan Point Cemetery grave. Since the management oddly prohibits photography, nowadays the tribute begins on the grounds of the Ladd Observatory, where Howard Phillips Lovecraft as a boy enjoyed staring through its telescope and wondering. Many of his stories refer to locations in Providence, such as the Benefit Street basement out of which strange creatures swarmed and flew off into the belfry of a Federal Hill church. The tributes are held around the date of Lovecraft’s death on March 15. As the time approaches, you may contact the founder of the ceremony, paranormal investigator Carl L. Johnson, for details. | ConstableCJ@hotmail.com
