Tubaphonia Christmas Concert
Every year, on a Saturday near Christmas, the North Kingstown Arts Council sponsors a TUBAPHONIA CHRISTMAS CONCERT, with close to 50 musicians from all over New England convening to blat out traditional carols and seasonal tunes. It is, in all the best senses, a hoot! There are baritone tubas, double-bell euphoniums, ophecleides, cimbassos, helicons, sousaphones, and other tubas of all shapes and sizes. It may sound like a musical event not fit for the faint-hearted, but it’s remarkably euphonious and a definite antidote to too many chorale renditions of the old chestnuts. | 401.294.3331, x 241 | nkartscouncil.org
