Best Best Cucina on Killingly

Anthony’s Cucina is a gem under the radar, to say the least, on the not-so-decadent Killingly Street in Johnston, unquestionably one of the top Italian joints in Li’l Rhody. Owner Anthony Hill and his devoted waitstaff (including Rosie, our personal favorite) proudly serve authentic dishes and hefty portions at unbeatable prices. Cozy dining rooms of white stucco bear framed pics of Gotti, Soprano, and Montana. Choose from more than a dozen pasta dishes at lunch ($5.95), from Tuna Aglio to Bolognaise; and an extensive dinner menu with a few dozen options to mull over a plate of Calamari Tuscany in balsamic vinaigrette, along with some of the best fried mozz we’ve encountered, sliced fresh and flash-fried. There’s plenty to contemplate (including the delicious Pasta Sinatra with pink sauce, spinach, olives, and prosciutto) with classic, old-world chicken, seafood, and veal dishes, and a phenomenal 22-ounce king-cut sirloin. Best of all is the buy-one-get-one free offer Monday through Thursday, with 16 tantalizing entrees (from Veal Saltimbocca to Scrod Francaise), as well as the popular all-you-can-eat chicken and pasta on Sundays for only $9.95. Anthony’s Cucina is also a hot spot for private parties, christenings, and wedding receptions in their aptly-named “party room.” Grazie , Mr. Hill. 659 Killingly Street, Johnston | 401.454.1996
