Best Best Banana Cream Pie

Would that all other versions of banana cream pie could fade into history in favor of the one prepared at the Nat Porter Restaurant ! Very finely crumbed graham cracker crust, not overly sweetened. Deli­cately cooked custard atop fresh-sliced bananas. Not chilled, just cooled to room temperature. Slices of caramelized bananas on top. The whole wedge set on a nest of fresh whipped cream. Simple ingredients allowed to shine on their own. No fuss, no muss. Ordered and re-ordered by anyone who ever tastes it at Nat Porter. You will too. The same care is taken at the top of the menu, from the freshness of the mussels and scallops, accented puttanesca-style and with a horseradish cream, respectively, to the careful selection of sauces, accompaniments and garnishes on dishes such as baked cod, pork medallions, and seared sirloin.
