Best Best Baking on the Bounding Main

Let’s say you’ve run out of bread on your sailing trip. Or you’re craving homemade cookies while camping. With a can of beer or a bottle of rum, plus a pre-measured, pre-mixed bag of ingredients from Bristol Harbor Homemade , you can whip up English Muffin Beer Bread or Dark & Stormy Ginger Cookies. Cindy Elder wanted to be able to produce home-baked goodies when her family was sailing, vacationing, or visiting friends. She realized she could put dry ingredients together and just add water and either butter or oil to her combinations to create 16 products: from chocolate cranberry almond biscotti or apricot ginger scones to oatmeal cookies or lemon poppy-seed tea bread. She is also developing soup and main meal mixes. Elder’s blue foil packages can be found in Bristol at Kate & Company and Gil’s Television & Appliance; at Frazzleberries in Newport; at Clements’ Marketplace in Portsmouth; and at Teapots & Tassels in Barrington. 401.396.9033 |
