The 10 TV premieres that’ll have you glued to the tube this fall

HELL ON WHEELS
| AMC | November 6 @ 10 pm | AMC is still looking for that third great show to go with
Mad Men
(returning in 2012) and
Breaking Bad
.
The Walking Dead
, which will return on October 16, could theoretically still be that show, but it will have to improve on a wobbly first season without former showrunner Frank Darabont, who was abruptly fired in the midst of production. Or it could be the new
Hell on Wheels
, which will follow
Walking Dead
on Sundays. Set during the construction of the Transcontinental railroad in the late 1860s, and it features Anson Mount as a former Confederate soldier hunting down the Union soldiers who killed his wife.

HBO'S VEEP NEEDS MORE MEAN
| April 23, 2012
Reality, right now, is so absurd that almost everyone has already adopted a "laugh-to-keep-from-crying" approach to the news. We don't need someone to tell us how truly horrifying our political landscape is. So what's a satirist to do?
