FOOD FIGHT
I don't think food critic Robert Nadeau knows very much about fine dining and what it means to cook good seafood. There are not many places in Boston that serve foods with such bold flavors and elegant presentations as does Bistro du Midi, which he reviewed in the February 12 edition. When I think of fine-dining fish eateries in Boston, not many places come to mind, except maybe Mistral. But that restaurant doesn't have much of a seafood selection and everything is overpriced.
At Bistro du Midi, you are pampered. Pair that with an amazing ambience and reasonably priced food and you have a great dining experience. So what that the food is not all Provençal French food? What place nowadays serves only one type of cuisine? Southern France is close to Italy, so of course they are going to share in some spices and ingredients on certain dishes. If the food was mediocre, I might be one to complain, but all the food was above par. The only thing I agreed with in this review was that the dessert was not to be missed. Don't listen to the Phoenix!

I find it surprising that your article on WTKK host Joe Ligotti, a/k/a The Guy from Boston, doesn't mention The Kid from Brooklyn, because that's who this loudmouth stole his idea and persona from. (See "The Big Ligotti," March 5.)
It's funny that this "true-to-form gilded goumba" (the Phoenix's words, not mine) rants about illegal immigrants and people who work in this country while receiving handouts. He ought to know all about that, since he works for Massport, which is akin to being on welfare and being a Teamster. Talk about double-dipping on the taxpayers' dime.
The article also mentioned there are rumors that Ligotti is considering a run for Congress. With his background, never has a person been more qualified to run — excuse me, walk — for office.

Regarding your online-only article "Ken Miller Just Can't Win" (March 5): no American has done more than Ken Miller to defend the teaching of evolution. At the Dover trial, which the Christians lost, Miller was brilliant. But I think it's very strange that Miller is religious. And I find it impossible to believe that a person with his intelligence really believes in the Resurrection.
In my opinion, the eradication of religious insanity from this world is just as important as improving the scientific literacy of Idiot America. So even though I greatly respect Miller, I think he is part of the problem.
