IN OUR WORDS If there's one training ground fit for breeding politicians, it's the black church establishment. So it's not surprising that Ego Ezedi — a minister at Morning Star Baptist Church in Mattapan — leads the pack in charisma (he also has four years of actual bureaucratic experience with US Congressman Michael Capuano, and ran an impressive campaign against district Councilor Charles Yancey in 2003). Though we can't tell for sure, his outstanding work with children and as the executive director of the Roxbury YMCA indicate that Ezedi is cut cleaner than some of his fellow men of the cloth.
